And how is Dr. Howard involved?
Dr. Howard and Dr. Winchester
succeeded in the first
field trial of an insect
modified to control
an agricultural pest.
The project was funded by the DoD.
So, a genetically modified moth.
These were high-tech,
virus-carrying moths.
They could potentially end
the need for pesticides.
Which is a great thing, right?
In the wrong hands,
the technique could be used
by malicious actors
to help spread diseases
to almost any crop species,
devastating harvests.
Which is why they took Dr. Winchester,
to replicate the results
and modify the moth.
That's biowarfare.
Once released, insects are
difficult to control.
And if they're released here,
in America,
they'll reproduce.
And by summer, half of America's
food supply could be gone.
I guess that answers why
the moths were so important.
One of the men that kidnapped
Dr. Winchester,
he was working for
a Chinese recruitment agency.
How would the Chinese government
even know about the moths?
Was anyone else working on the project?
No. Dr. Howard's lab was
a cleared facility.
And his lab assistant was
granted access to
projects, materials and data.
Okay, that doesn't track, though, 'cause
Dr. Howard's assistant
claimed he didn't know
what the moths were for.
I can't see how that's possible.

Dr Howard worked
very closely with his assistant.
He trusts Arjun.
Well, it looks like Sam's
gonna have to have
another conversation with Arjun.
Where are we with Arjun's emails?
Nothing so far.

really connecting Arjun
to New Origin or Zhang Chin.

what the moths were actually for.

that lab inside and out.
He would've known they were being used

company with a business name

speaking engagement income.

connected to Arjun.
He's been using crypto to cover up
the money he's receiving
from New Origin.
