The two women that get that date-- You need to have your bags packed, say good-bye To the other women, because one of you will not be coming home.
Now this is usually Where I leave you and give you the date card.
That's not gonna happen this morning, because, ladies, Everything is about to change.
You need to please pack your bags.
You'll be leaving los angeles on your journey to find love.
(laughter) Brad has already left los angeles.

We're going on a shopping spree.

I've been on dates before Where I start talking about my profession, And the guy has found it very strange.
I really hope that does not scare him away And doesn't prevent me from getting a rose tonight.

My profession's different.
(whimsical music playing) I'm a funeral director and embalmer.
What do you have to do to embalm someone? Do you really want to know? I'm fascinated by it.
I really am.
The point of embalming is you want to basically Replace the individual's blood with chemical.
Basically, like-- Wait.
Do I really want to know? It's not like anything, you know, I'm gonna eat as I'm talking so Ugh.
That makes one of us then.
I'm just talking so much.

So you (chuckles) All right, please eat while you're talking about Embalming a human being.

(laughs) I have waited so long to talk to shawntel, And she's telling me that she embalms deceased bodies? So tonight's conversation is a little bit different Than I'm used to on a first date.
You only want to make one incision, Because if you have to start raising other places, That's room for any leakage.
You know, you just have to be so, so careful.
Where would, uh, where would this leakage occur? (chuckles) I mean, think of all of our orifices.

In school, we take restorative art.
We're actually able to kind of make an ear If they want to have an open casket.
Where did we go from embalming to molding I don't know.

(laughing) oh, my peaches-- she's so amazing.
She's kinda got cross-eyed, and so her eyes are like wah! (laughs) I'm getting to know shawntel, no doubt about it.

Now this-- This is our first night in las vegas.

It was a definite sigh of relief To not only get the rose But to know that he accepts what I do And what I'm passionate about.
I feel beyond lucky.

We're like, this is big-time.
This is not go-kart racing.
This is actual nascar.

Well, hello, ladies.
(laughs) So he gets of the car, and he's, like, in the full outfit.
My god.
I think probably it was the best he's ever looked.
We're you're obviously at the las vegas motor speedway.
The very same racetrack That dale earnhardt jr.
, jeff gordon, Amongst many others, Are going to be racing in five very short weeks.
You are going to have the chance to race nascar racecars today.
(woman) oh, no! (brad) absolutely.
I don't know.
I think this will be an amazing experience Because I've never done anything like this.
You guys want to follow me and suit up? Plus, I am fun and hot, And you should see me in a racecar.
This is every single guy's dream-- To be able to drive and race a nascar racecar.
(engines rev) (britt) I am thinking right now I'm not really sure what I've gotten myself into, But, you know, you want to show off for a guy.
You want to show him what you can do.
I'm totally gonna suck it up and go for this.
I just need to, uh, uh, get myself ready.
(man) there you go.
(engine purring, tires screech) While I'm driving I don't ever even look at the dash.
I'm just focusing on where to stay within the lines.
Once I start going, I'm just not taking my foot off the gas.

Look at-- chantal is moving! We're all really having a great time, But I kind of had a feeling that this would be emotional The whole way through for emily.
You could tell The whole time she's there.
She's just very quiet.
She has this look about her.
This is the profession That her fiancé, um, you know, this is what he did, And he had passed away Flying to go to a nascar racetrack.
Brad doesn't know anything about my history with nascar.
He knows that my fiancé ricky passed away, And he knows that I'm a mom, but he doesn't know How all that kind of relates to this date in particular.
(laughs) all right, let's go.
Round two.
(brad) I am living a dream of mine.
I'm happy.
I think the girls are happy.
And then I'm realizing Something's really wrong with emily.

I'm nervous.
(brad) she's smiling, but it's almost a forced smile.

So now I'm really curious as to what's going on in her head.
(engine sputters) I need to talk to emily and find out what's going on.

Talk about an adrenaline rush.
But I know something's wrong with emily, And that is in the back of my mind right now.
She's uncomfortable being here.

It's just--honestly, it's, like, I just wanted to move on from the whole nascar world, You know, 'cause it's so much a part of my life in charlotte.
Can I ask you what got you Involved in nascar in the first place? Was it him? Um, ricky was a racecar driver.

Mm-hmm.
And now-- and then he turned, He, like, switched into an owner position.
Uh-huh.
Um, the vegas track is what ended his driving career.
Okay.
He crashed at the vegas track.
So it was just like Like, you think you leave it behind No, I know.
And you--you come here, and it's, like Yeah.
What are you thinking? I feel like a jerk is what I'm thinking.
Yeah, this is why I did not want to have this conversation.
I want--but I want to have the conversation, you know? This is why I did not want you to feel like that at all.
I just honestly had no idea, obviously.

And I-I want you to know that.
I swear, it's like I usually am pretty fun, I feel like.
Oh, emily, it was me that picked the date, not you.

So many things are coming into my mind.
This man is the father of emily's child.
He crashed on this exact track, And that ended his driving career.
My very first concern Is how emily feels being on this track right now.
The very second you feel uncomfortable, I'll leave.

The way he reacted Just really made me think of him in an even better light.
You know, he was there for me but still just let me Have a moment, which made me feel good.

I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with emily's tenacity.
She said, "no, I need to do this.
I want to do this.
" Okay, they're coming back.
I didn't think she was gonna go through with it, But after talking to brad, emily came back, Ready to put on that helmet and get in the car.
I'm ready.
All the other girls were so excited, And I could tell that I could tell how excited brad was about being there.
(sighs deeply) It brought back a lot of memories for me, being there.
The hardest part was probably just getting in the car.
The only time I've ever been in another racecar, I've been in the passenger side, And ricky's been drivin'.
(man) it'll be fine.

I'm really just thinkin' about how much I miss ricky And how much he always wanted me to drive, And I never would 'cause I was too scared.
(brad) I realize there's a problem.
And I look over to emily, and it breaks my heart to say, But I realize she's crying, sitting in the car.
I need to go check on someone I care about.
(engine idling) hey, you don't have to do this.
No, I'm ready.

As I was sitting there, I really just had to take a minute And just think about, you know, what I was doing, And, um, just push myself.

(chuckles) I hope emily's okay.
I gave her the opportunity-- "well, look, we don't have to do this," And I really--I meant every single word of that.
She keeps telling me, "I need today.
I'm going to do this.
" Go, emily! Go, emily! (michelle) whoo! (emily) I'm trying to just stay positive And just see this as what I need to move on.
(gears click) I decided that I don't want to bring anything from my past Into today.
Ricky will always be a huge part of my life, You know, I always love him, But the whole reason I came and did this process Was so that I could start something new With somebody new.
(woman) yeah! All right! While I'm driving around, I Not thinkin' about going the fastest.
I was just driving around thinkin', you know, The first few laps were for ricky And the last lap was for me, And I really am just ready to move on and find love again.

I think now we're all just looking forward To the after party and spending some time with brad.

Earlier in the night, brad had pulled emily aside At the racetrack and kind of, you know, gave her A lot of extra special attention at the racetrack.
So I think I'm just ready for him to, you know, Focus his attention on me.

If we don't allow you to know how to allow your feelings For each of these different women coexist, You're gonna end up going down the path of shutting down.

That's something you've gotta take care of.

In order for you to be in a place Where you know what opening your life to someone looks like, It means making yourself vulnerable.

It's not easy to do.
It's a real strength in your character.

But here's the thing-- Strength and vulnerability Are not mutually exclusive.

There is tremendous strength in being vulnerable.
