America's Next Top Model (2003) s21e01 Episode Script

The Boyz R Back

- Come back to me - Tyra: I keep having these weird "Top Model" dreams.
Like my inner-child is trying to tell me something.
Bad smize.
Weak tooch.
Dead eyes.
- Can you booch? - I have no answer.
Whack walk.
Did I hear you say "whack walk," Lil' Ty? Something's been missing from "Top Model" for too damn long.
- Oh, really? - Yes, boo.
- You do know how to work a catwalk.
- You know it's true.
- You seem petite.
- Your weave is sweet.
- But why you here? - 'Cause that's my seat! That's my seat? Something's missing.
Is something missing? Tyra: In the meantime, I know what isn't missing-- - guys.
- It's Cycle 21, baby! Tyra: It's Cycle 21 and the boys are back.
Girls love my lips.
They're very plump.
I do enjoy looking at pictures of myself.
Tyra: That's right, we still have our talented female models that have been ruling the roost.
But y'all love those hot guys so much that this cycle, the toochers and boochers are back fighting for the title of "America's Next Top Model.
" Guys, we're taking Cycle 21, you can just go home.
Tyra: We found hopefuls from across America In college, I started befriending one of the most beautiful women in the classroom because I like to be around people that share my confidence.
I'm a winner.
Nobody wakes up in the morning and is like, "You know what? Today's the day where I'm gonna lose.
" Tyra: and brought the top 31 contenders to fight for one of only 14 final spots.
Are you ready? 'Cause Cycle 21 starts right now.
This is Cycle 21.
A guy hasn't won yet.
Men are coming back and the guys are gonna bring so much testosterone, women don't stand a chance this cycle.
- Bring it, baby.
- Whoo! This competition with the guys and the girls is gonna be serious.
There's gonna be a lot of fighting going on, there's gonna be people hooking up.
The guys are gonna bring it, the girls are gonna bring it, and hopefully the guys come out on top.
( cheering ) Denzel: There's 31 people here, but only 14 will make the final roster.
I'm confident going in.
I'm just ready to start smiling and taking photos.
So here we are, but where are the girls at? Know what I mean? That's what I'm wondering.
Raelia: This is, like, so big to me.
So me even being here, like, wake me up.
I wanted to be a model and I didn't really know if I could because of my skin.
I have an autoimmune disease called vitiligo, which results in patches of white skin all over my body.
When I was young, the bullying did definitely help me to get stronger.
( cheering ) We're all in the Supper Club thinking we're about to go rage with some ladies finally, but there's this huge curtain separating us.
We're 15 feet away from them and still cannot see them.
You can hear 'em.
I know the guys are on the other side of the curtain and they're screaming and barking.
And I definitely just want to rip the curtain down and just figure out who are these guys.
( cheering ) Hello and welcome to the fabulous Supper Club.
( cheering ) I'm Cory from Cycle 2.
0, the first cycle to ever have guys represent on "America's Next Top Model.
" I'm very different from the other guys.
I know that I'm androgynous.
Cory, this picture is slammin'.
Your eyes are strong.
Ivy: I'm so excited to see Cory.
He looks amazing.
He definitely represents a model.
And just to know that he was where we were last year, it just makes it inspiring.
It makes the whole thing real.
In just a few hours, this space is going to be filled with people who are excited to see you walk in an EDM-themed runway show.
You know what that means.
Electronic dance music.
So it's going to be a lot of this.
Don't do that on the runway, though.
You will look cray.
I'm a six-foot-six gay Catholic dancer from Texas.
Growing up in Texas being a gay man is a struggle in itself.
So I just suppressed all these feelings of being gay.
In 23 years, this is the first time that I'm actually doing something for myself and following my dream of becoming a model.
Denzel: I'm a man's man in every sense of the word.
I want to see an alpha male take over this competition.
I want to prove that an alpha male can dominate the industry.
Now on the runway you are going to rock a hashtag of your own choosing that represents who you are as a person.
And really what you're all about.
So at the end of this runway, you're going to be taking your own photo.
You're going to take a selfie using the social media app Line.
Shei: I have done runway before, but selfie at the end? Nah.
Selfie in the bedroom, on the couch, in the car, yeah, of course.
And it better be good because that is the photo that the judges are going to see and judge you off of.
So do you think you're ready to face your competition? - ( cheering ) - Cory: First you need to get into hair and makeup so that you look cute when you do meet.
Okay? - ( cheering ) - Raelia: I'm excited to meet the guys.
I'm definitely not intimidated by anyone.
I know this competition is going to be crazy.
And I'm ready for anything that comes my way.
- Yeah.
- Whoo! We are about to do a runway show.
I am excited to meet the guys.
This is going to be our first time meeting them.
The guys cannot compete with us.
- It's so over.
- They're just props.
- Yes! - Shei: My hashtag is all day dancing 'cause I'm a go-go dancer.
People would describe me as a tall Asian girl that's dancing all the time.
I just love music and I just love to move.
That is awesome! I'm free, I'm dating, I'm doing the whole thing.
As far as my type, Tyson Beckford is probably the finest thing walking the Earth right now.
- Kinda? Kinda? - Kinda.
Yeah.
I'm a football player.
I've played professional football in the NFL.
And now that I've sustained a career-ending injury in football, my heart, my efforts all goes to modeling.
So did y'all do anything like this last season? It was crazy.
This is my second time being a semifinalist.
Last cycle, I wasn't really able to give it my all.
This time, it's gonna be hella different because I'm comfortable, I'm calm.
These kids are newbies, so they're probably gonna be awful.
Romeo: I saw that Danny was back for a second cycle.
I think Danny does feel like he's a little bit superior than everybody else.
I'm a witch, I have my Ouija board and my tarot cards.
I'm not intimidated.
I hope that he goes home.
Hey, hey.
I'm your typical, loveable fraternity guy.
I will completely outparty you and I'm also way smarter than you.
You better work, you better dance! Hey, eh, eh, eh.
How would y'all feel about testing yourself out right now and doing a walk-off in this room just to see what you guys have now? I got a full-body mirror for you guys right here.
- ( women screaming ) - Shei: Cory, he pulls down the curtain, it's a two-way mirror.
We can see the guys, they can't see us.
( cheering ) I'm single, ready to mingle, and we got to see what we're working with a little bit.
And there was something there.
I was like, "Wait, do they know what's going on right now?" ( women cheering ) Keith: We could hear the girls screaming and that's how we knew that we were being watched.
I am single and the ladies love me, definitely.
What's really not to love? Check this out, you know? I would never take off my shirt in front of people.
It's one of those things I can't explain.
Maybe it's because I don't have these muscles, I don't have this huge, ripped body.
So it was about me doing my best.
You wanna see them? You wanna see the girls? - Yes, sir! - Let them know.
Let them know.
( men chanting ) ( cheering ) Ben: Hello, ladies.
I'm very single and I'm very ready to mingle.
Adam: Twerk, twerk, twerk! Denzel: This girl, Mirjana, she steps up tall, beautiful, great skin complexion.
I have the hots for her.
I'm looking around the room and I see this girl, Kari.
Give me a kiss! Kari, her gorgeous eyes.
- Kari's a great woman.
- Hey, what's up, Kari? - Yeah, Kari's great.
- ( cheering ) My eyes are pleasing me very much right now.
Kari: I'm really flirty toward everyone.
And I'm really loving toward everyone.
I want everyone to enjoy themselves.
As soon as I saw a black girl with white marks, I'm like, "Hmm this is interesting.
" - I think that she's just very unique.
- ( cheering ) I've always been a little bit self-conscious of my skin, but it's me.
It's who I am and there's nothing to fix.
All right, girls.
This has been fun, yes? It's about to get really, really serious.
Okay? Get your game face on.
Because the runway show is about to start.
For 20 cycles, girls have ruled this competition, but give me some six-inch heels and I'll show you how it's done.
I don't see any competition over there, I'm just saying.
( crowd cheering ) Hello, everybody.
Are we having a good time tonight? - ( crowd cheering ) - My name is Cory.
And I'd like to welcome you to our EDM-themed runway show.
( crowd cheering ) Now it is my honor and privilege to introduce you to the queen diva.
A sister after my own heart.
Chantelle: I look up and I see someone descending from the ceiling and I'm like, "Okay, I know who that is.
" ( crowd cheering ) Can I get a tooch up in here? Can I get a booch up in here? ANTM, baby.
Tyra comes down on this little swing.
Long-legged, beautiful as ever.
- Whoo! - I was like, "You know what? I need one of those in my bedroom.
" Her presence fills the room.
It's all real now.
"Top Model" is a place where dreams come true.
Just last cycle, Cory was a young boy with a dream and now he is standing beside me.
Did you guys see Cycle 20 with guys and girls? - ( crowd cheering ) - Did you? I'd like to say that 20 was there, but now we are here.
We're not looking for any duplications.
We are looking for originality.
- Y'all with me? - ( crowd cheering ) Tyra: Now I have a secret.
Truth, no lies.
- Sorely missed.
- Girl - Or guy? - Once was lost.
Now fiercely found.
Cory: Catwalk queen.
Stomp your ground! ( cheering ) It's Miss J.
Like, what?! I remember watching Miss J since the very beginning being the runway coach.
Strutting her stuff.
And I'm, like, putting my hands in the air.
I feel like I'm in church.
Having a hallelujah over here.
I'm back.
- ( cheering ) - It was the best moment of my life.
Now that I finished catwalking and NTMing around the world, I finally came back home.
I'm hoping to look at some models today that can actually take criticism, direction, and really make a change with the information that's passed on to them.
- ( music playing ) - Keith: I'm nervous about the selfie and I'm just hoping I don't drop the phone and embarrass myself in front of the crowd.
Take the stage, diva.
Kari: I walked down the runway and the person that I have to be paired with-- Keith is super attractive.
Kari: A Tyson Beckford reincarnation.
Like twinsies.
But I need to focus.
I can't be intimidated right now.
Girl, close your mouth.
You're catching flies, close your mouth.
That was actually my first time walking.
- Shut up.
You did well.
- Yeah.
I was nervous at first, but Lenox: I'm the sweet, little, dorky girl from a small, little town in Georgia.
- I like her.
- Lenox: It's crazy to see other parts of the world and the fact that I'm doing this because of modeling is just such an amazing experience.
Cory: I love it when a model is unafraid to express femininity.
I came out two years ago to my family.
When I was growing up, I thought that there was something wrong with me.
I would cry myself to sleep at night because I was gonna be a disappointment for my family.
Being here in this competition is just like I can breathe and I can be the person that I want to be.
Denzel: My body looks good at the risk of sounding arrogant.
I have my delts and my chest and my abs and my arms.
When you put the baby oil on me, of course that shows even better and I love it.
Mirjana: I'm walking on the runway with this guy and I actually left him.
I walked back towards the end of the runway.
I was waiting on him and he was still taking selfies.
I was like, "Who is this guy?" She's laughing at him.
Raelia has knock-knees and makes her walk a bit funny.
She's gonna have to learn how to reshape her legs when she walks.
Cory: They're in sync.
They walk together.
Brandon: I'm from New Orleans.
I'm very sarcastic.
I'm very rude.
My style is very futuristic.
- Cory: Energy.
- That's why I'm here right now.
I didn't know anyone else with vitiligo growing up, so it was very hard for me.
But I've always had confidence throughout my entire life.
- Cory: I really like her body.
- Chantelle: I don't have to say anything to anyone who thinks I'm too different.
All I have to do is win.
I'm pretty confident I can do a perfect 10 runway walk.
I'm gonna be on alpha male mountain looking down at all the people who are less attractive than I am.
He's growling.
Hello, ladies.
I'm gonna come in hot.
I'm coming in like a banshee outta hell.
Probably French seven or eight of them.
- Just off the bat let 'em know I'm here to play.
- ( lion growls ) - Adam - ( lion growls ) I want some of what he got.
Congratulations, you guys.
Your first runway show.
Give yourselves a round of applause.
( cheering ) Now it is time to personalize your selfies using the Line app.
This selfie is crucial to the evaluation.
This is the first photo that they're gonna see of you guys, so get it right.
Add something that makes it more unique.
We got this really cool app and the options are just infinite.
- This one, for now.
- I'm like, "What will make my picture just stand out to the judges?" I'm trying to give them some personality, let them know that this is me.
We cannot get eliminated because of this.
Walking down the runway with Kari, ugh, she was amazing.
And then actually meeting her-- ( sighs ) Her eyes were beautiful.
It's just love at first sight.
It was a pleasure to meet all of you.
Women of "America's Next Top Model," be ready, move out of the way because I'm kickin' ass and takin' names.
Guys, I really, definitely feel that you need to watch out for the girls.
Especially me because I'm very competitive.
Grew up with four brothers, so you do not scare me at all.
Well, welcome to casting Cycle 21, guys and girls.
Tooch and booch, holla.
- Missed you, baby.
- Missed you, too, boo.
Where were you? Where'd you go? Child, I was doing catwalks around the world.
"Killa" Cutrone, you ready to kill some tooches and booches? I'm ready to crush some dreams, babe.
Oh, you are the dream crusher.
Tyra: All right, so let's meet our 31 semifinalists and see which 22 guys and girls will make the first cut.
Send in the first boocher.
Adam.
I'm 26 years old from Memphis, Tennessee.
- Memphis, Tennessee.
- Home of Elvis and barbeque.
- I love me some barbeque.
- I love it, too.
So you are a professional partier, self-proclaimed.
Everyone parties.
I'm just better at it.
I'm in the top 1% of partiers in the country.
Ideal day, I wake up, have sex, cook some breakfast, hit the pool, 10 beers, have sex again, hit the club, pop bottles, have sex again.
Are you a frat boy or something? I am somewhat of a legend in my fraternity.
They actually still have a pledge event where they ask trivia questions about me.
I'm also a very intelligent guy.
I'm getting a dual degree in mathematical risk management and actuarial science.
Partying might be the only thing I take more seriously than my education.
Let's see your selfie.
You have to learn how to do your "hey mouth" like "hey," not "ah!" But the energy is fantastic.
- Thank you very much, Adam.
- Adam: Thank you, Tyra.
- ( screams, barks ) - ( panel laughs ) - Okay, I'm just going to say something.
- Kelly, please say it.
I hope my daughter never comes home with a guy like him.
- There's something wrong with him.
- Tyra: His profile's genius.
He's looking at his picture and I was looking at his profile like-- Look at this elegance walking in.
My name is Chantelle Winnie and I'm from Toronto, Canada.
- I found you.
- Really? Tyra: I saw you on social media.
I've actually never seen vitiligo that way.
- Yeah, neither have I.
- It's like symmetrical fantasticness.
- Look at that.
- Chantelle: For anyone who thinks negatively of me or my skin, I want to help you be able to see the beauty in every other person that has a disability, a mark, a scar.
How can I show you the beauty in differences? It took a long time to get to where you are now.
- It did.
- Tyra: And your confidence.
Talk about when you were younger and being bullied.
The bullying started in middle school.
They were, like, "cow" and "moo.
" I ended up dropping out of high school because of the bullying was that much.
People have actually asked me if my mom is white and my dad is black and I wasn't mixed properly in the belly.
And how old was that person? - Uh, my age? - Tyra: Three? - No.
- And I'm gonna say something harsh.
If you have something like vitiligo or lupus or certain things, people tend to soft-tread.
If you get into this competition, I will not soft-tread.
- I didn't think you would.
- I will be just as hard on you as everyone else.
- Yeah.
- You have a boyfriend? I don't have a boyfriend, but I do have someone important back home.
- Is he your lover? - I don't know why whenever I hear "a lover," - it just sounds like "sex.
" - ( laughs ) Well, let's see your shot.
Kelly: You can do so much better.
Tyra: Your pictures on social media are stunning, gorgeous.
You're better than this.
- This is like wickety-whack.
- Yeah.
I have that type of advantage of people loving the underdog winning, but I don't need any favors or a pity party.
I just-- I'm gonna be myself.
- She has a really beautiful face-- the eyes are insane.
- Eyes.
- Tall man.
- Tallness.
I'm Ben, I'm 24 and I'm from Waverly, Iowa.
- I like your eyebrows.
- I got them threaded, actually.
- No, you didn't.
- Ben: It hurt, yeah.
- I feel bad for women out there.
- ( laughs ) You say that you're a quadruple threat.
- I am.
Model, actor, singer, dancer.
- Show me your modeling.
- Show me your acting.
- I told you to let the dog out.
- What are you doing? - Show me your dancing.
( music playing ) All right.
Show me your singing.
Oh, big booty, big booty, big booty Oh, yeah? - Big booty.
- Tyra: Can you teach me how to "big booty"? - Ready? - I'm ready.
Let's go.
Together: Oh, big booty, big booty, big booty - Ben: Oh, yeah? - Together: Big booty.
You're out.
Twerk, baby! Miss J is speechless right now.
- All this booty talk.
- Ben: Being from the Midwest, there's some very good benefits of being corn-fed.
- One of which is right here.
- ( gun cocks ) - Boom! - ( explosion ) - Now, you moved out to LA.
- I did.
And you do some modeling, but to supplement your income, - you do what? - I'm a cater waiter.
- I actually served you one time.
- Where? I'm not going to lie.
At the Oscar party last year.
- Oh, wow.
- Yeah, I definitely checked you out.
This is not appropriate.
Here's a little tip.
- I'm sorry.
- Kelly: You're like a pipsqueak, okay? - Okay.
- Tyra Banks does not want to sleep with you.
And trying to take her down by speaking to her like that is not only delusional, but it's highly unprofessional.
I am a man.
I check women out.
Questionable.
You get your eyebrows threaded in Iowa.
- I'll be the one to decide that.
- Okay.
Oh, my gosh.
It was kind of a toolish thing to say.
I am sorry.
I'm a little worried that Kelly Cutrone might hold this against me forever.
- Oh, yeah? - Together: Big booty.
You guys have never read this book before? It's a really good book.
- I'm very much into the occult.
- Hell, no.
I'm very comfortable with who I am and if other people are interested in that, then, hey, I'm ready to educate them.
- You've been doing it for how long? - Since I was 13.
"Oh, I got this new deck.
I'm gonna -- everybody here for a minute.
" I think Danny, he's that small annoyance in the back of my head.
I just can't stand the guy.
He likes to talk about people instead of being out and open about it-- What an idiot.
I'm not going to let that get to me.
And I'm ready and I'm focused and determined to send him home.
- Tyra: Hey, pretty hair.
- Hi, I'm Lenox.
I'm 19 years old and I'm from Newnan, Georgia.
So I understand that you view yourself kind of weird and awkward? Oh, yeah.
'Cause I have a giant forehead.
- Can you please come to the forehead master? - Yes, ma'am.
( robotic ) Lean down and give me your five-head energy.
- ( laughing ) - ( buzzing ) - Tyra: Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
- The power is within us.
- You big ol' forehead bitches.
So I know that you went through something very sad two weeks ago.
- Lenox: Yes.
- What happened? My father he passed away.
( voice breaking ) He, um - ( crying ) - It's okay.
Take your time.
I haven't seen him since I was four.
He had some demons and he decided it was best for me if he left and he didn't subject me to those.
And then he died thinking that I didn't miss him.
That I didn't care that he was gone, you know? And that really bothered me 'cause I didn't think that.
Lenox, I think you have a lot of guilt but actually it's his responsibility as a dad - to be there for you.
- Yeah.
- Are you ready to see your photo? - I guess so.
( laughs ) Tyra: The only thing I like about this picture is your forehead.
Everything else is kinda like weird.
I kinda like that weirdness about it.
Kelly: You're so beautiful.
I just don't think your beauty is reflected in the shot.
- Tyra: It isn't.
- I agree.
- Thank you for sharing your story, Lenox.
- Thank you.
My name's Josh.
I'm 22 and I'm from Clayton, New York.
- You do what for a living? - I milk cows, I work on a dairy farm and I live on a horse ranch.
I understand you were a big athlete playing all kind of sports and then something happened and you couldn't play those contact sports anymore.
- Tell us what happened.
- I was a big football, lacrosse player, and then the second day of school I started turning yellow.
I found out I have a rare liver disease I was born with.
My life kinda completely flip-flopped.
I worked hard for this and I want to reach my dream.
I'm definitely ready to leave farming behind.
It's time for me to be on the cover of magazines.
- He's back.
- My name is Daniel.
I'm 24 years old and I'm from Staten Island, New York.
I'm happy to be back and I'm clearheaded and confident.
My biggest worry about this competition would be getting sent home too early.
'Cause last cycle when I got sent home, I felt like I let everybody else down more than I let myself down.
Your hair is combed and sprayed.
You told me last year-- Yeah, but it's too "pompadooed," boo.
- Yeah, just more relaxed.
- Kelly: Yeah, tousled.
Tyra: That's so much better.
There you go.
Well, let's see your photo.
It's a really awkward selfie, - but you look fantastic.
- Ah, thank you.
So let's see if you can stay around.
I have that drive, I have that determination to succeed in life and I don't know if these kids have it or not.
I still found his energy is not all the way there.
It's like he's holding back or something.
You guys won't ever have to worry about me going behind anyone's back.
When we start really getting into it and people start getting eliminated, then we're really going to see how it is.
There's going to be a lot of people going home.
- Not me.
- Didn't you go home? Tell us about it.
How was it going home? How did you feel? Everybody else was in tears and I just was chilling like, "This isn't the end of my modeling career.
" Danny: I'm a humble person.
I made it and I want everybody to succeed.
I don't want to just be the only person on top.
Romeo: Is that confidence or is that cockiness? I'm the furthest person from cocky.
But I honestly feel like I got it in the bank.
My advice to you is to take a piece of humble pie and just eat a little bit out of it.
Ivy: It's definitely crazy that drama's already started.
No one's safe yet and people are already talking.
- Seriously, don't come at me.
- I'm going to be honest-- I'm totally honest right now.
I don't like you and I want you to stay out of my way.
Straight up.
I don't need you to like me.
Danny, his attitude was very off-putting and I just don't let people get away with that.
Like what -- crown are you wearing? 'Cause I'm about to smack that crown off your head.
- Yo, just do your competition-- - Do your thing, man.
- Yeah, do your thing.
- So, for real, you guys-- Danny: Be on top.
- Hi.
- I'm Romeo.
I have a question for you.
Is Sabbath gonna interfere with your ability to be on this competition? No, definitely not.
I'm still gonna practice.
- Are you Wiccan? - I could be, it's too much work.
I like to think things and make them happen.
I don't need candles and other things.
- Tyra: Are you moving him right now? - ( laughs ) I grew up in a strict Mexican Catholic family.
So when I told them that I was switching religions and that I was bisexual, they flipped their lid.
Let's see your photo.
( squeals ) - That is fierce.
- It's a nice picture.
When I win this competition, you can call me "America's Next Top Witch.
" Tooch on down the stairs, girl.
My name is Kari.
I hear that you're popular and the guys are flocking to you.
- ( laughs ) - What does that feel like? Well, it feels amazing.
I'm real and I think people gravitate toward that kind of energy.
Let's see how hot your picture is.
I like everything! I like all your patterns you added to it and had fun.
Whatever you did made it look like almost a cool, edgy magazine.
- Like "Nylon," kinda.
- That makes me so happy! - Thank you very much.
- Kari: Okay.
I'm Keith, I'm 26 and I represent Bridgeport, Connecticut.
And you're the one that all the girls are so into, saying that, "He looks like the new version of Tyson Beckford"? Yeah, that's what they've been saying.
Tyson Beckford and I have the same birthday and we're both the same height.
But Tyson can't say that he was an ex-NFL player.
I was a receiver.
I played with the Philadelphia Eagles and I just finished playing with the New York Giants.
I actually got hurt not too long ago.
That was a big dent into what I had planned, but modeling has always been a dream of mine.
- Okay, I'm the quarterback.
- All right, okay.
Ready? Go, go, go, go! Yes! I love all the stuff you did to your picture.
You have a natural artistic ability.
- To do that with the stickers.
- You're collage king.
- I take a lot of selfies.
- Oh, you're kidding me, damn.
- Tyra: Thank you so much.
- Keith: Thank you.
- Hey.
- You look so cute with your black and white, girl.
I'm Shei.
I'm 23 and I'm from Ardmore, Oklahoma.
You moved around a lot as a young girl.
How many elementary schools did you attend? At least five, six.
My mom's a single mom.
She's raising three kids on her own.
Always moving from job to job.
We'd sleep in the car, sleep on top of the car.
Mom's like, "Oh, let's watch the stars, let's go on a little adventure.
" So she made that hardship a positive thing.
My mom, she's a superwoman.
I work hard for what I get and it's all because of her.
- Tyra: Your cheekbones are popping.
- Shei: Thank you.
Tyra: Yeah, girl, look at those cheekbones.
- Ben: From Iowa.
- Iowa.
Adam: We get to hang out.
People are just having fun getting to know each other.
And then all of a sudden-- Hi.
This bombshell walks in.
I stopped talking immediately and go, "Damn.
" My name's Jamie Rae.
I'm from Jersey.
Jamie Rae, she comes in bringing this big pink tote bag looking like she just got out of the Barbie Dream House.
I wanted to meet this chick, whoever she was.
So what happened? Why are you so late? I missed my first flight by a minute.
I literally just got off the plane.
It's a little nerve-racking.
I think there's some pretty good competition out there, but I think I got it.
Throwing you in the mix.
Pay up.
Jamie, she's gonna catch some hate.
The guys won't really mind, but the girls are gonna be straight up cats to her.
- I'm sweating.
- Yeah, you stink.
I'm kidding.
- Damn, girl.
- ( other girls laughing ) Jamie Rae, I definitely feel like she's not going to make it.
I don't think she's a threat.
She's just there.
I don't see her as competition at all.
- How's everybody? - Hi.
I'm Denzel.
I'm 23 from the Houston, Texas.
- Denzel! - Yes, ma'am.
You hear that all the time.
Denzel! - I do.
- Tyra: Oh, Lord.
Tear it up! Tear it up! I'm not going to bury my son! My son is gonna bury me! Dang, you did that really good, Denzel.
- Thank you.
- So you are a little bit of an entrepreneur.
- which is based out of Houston.
- So you smart.
- You not just fine.
- I'm the best of both worlds, I like to say.
What did your mom say? Some advice? She basically said, "You'll always lose money chasing --, you'll never lose -- chasing money.
" Tyra: I wouldn't say you look very "model-ly," but you look very sweet and very likeable.
But you have to up your model game and get your smize on.
- Thank you.
- Tyra: Thank you, Denzel.
Denzel: I kinda look over and see this massive statue of a man.
And as I give him the once-over, I'm like, "Wait a minute.
He has on high heels.
" I'm old-fashioned, there's some -- men shouldn't do.
Tyra: Hello.
Come down.
- Oh, no, you didn't.
- Kelly: You did not, girl.
Tyra: Work! Howdy, I'm Will.
I am 23 and I'm from Nederland, Texas.
You are a dancing giant.
Yes, I've been teaching dance in college and now I work at a dance studio and I teach 100 kids.
It's important for me to be here because my job is to teach girls how to follow their dreams.
There's a lot at stake for me.
It's not just for myself, but it's for all of those girls that I work with back home.
- Let me teach you.
- Yes.
Oh, my God.
You are beautiful.
So you gotta spread your legs.
You gotta bend over.
- Oh, nice.
- Gotta purse your lips.
- Oh.
- There you go.
- Five, six, seven, eight.
- ( music playing ) My name Raelia.
I'm from Philly.
I'm 22.
I like to twerk.
All right.
- You better twerk it out.
- Twerk it out.
You're very thin, but then you have a booty that, like, shakes.
- I have a booty? For real? - You have a booty.
I like it, but I thought it was kinda little.
- No, it's a nice booty.
- Thank you, honey.
Tyra: I'm gonna want you to go and wash your face because right now I don't know what you look like.
- Okay? - I'll be right back.
Tyra: Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
- You look so beautiful.
- Thank you.
And like a model for real.
Thank you so much.
You're a virgin, but you twerk.
- ( laughs ) - You're a twersin.
I'm a twersin.
I just like to have fun.
Most of my friends got pregnant young, started having sex young.
My dad always instilled values in me.
I'm fierce, I'm fabulous, I'm me and I have so much to offer and I'm special.
So you can look, but that's all.
Don't touch.
- I got the eye.
- Yeah, you do, 'cause I didn't see it.
- I saw it from step one.
- I saw eyeliner.
But Kelly has the eye.
Tyra: Barbie has entered the building.
You look like a Barbie that has come to life.
I can't believe I'm standing here right now.
I'm sorry.
I can't believe you're talking.
It's like Eve's friend just came to life.
Hi, everybody.
I'm Jamie Rae and I'm from New Jersey.
I finally got here.
I missed my flight.
You missed your flight because you were late? Yeah, by one minute.
The lady closed the door in my face.
I was so sad.
But where was your makeup, girl? Thank God I had it with me and it wasn't in my luggage.
I was like, "No, that's coming with me on the plane.
" - So what do you do for a living? - I'm a nanny.
You're a nanny? Who lets you in their house? So you didn't make it to the runway.
- Bad model moment.
- Bad model.
Tyra: But you did your selfie yourself.
I think in terms of modeling that is Barbie in a bad way.
- Yeah.
- You ever thought about what would happen if you left your glitter shoes and hair extensions at home? I was trying to get all dressed up for you guys.
Okay, so you are going to leave.
You are going to wash your hair, you're going to slick it back and you're going to wash every single piece of makeup off that face and if you come back in here and even have a stitch of eyeliner, I'm sending you home.
And you gonna make that flight.
Jamie: I feel like I got caught off guard.
I'm breaking out a little bit.
I just don't want to take off my makeup.
Are you telling me right now you want to give up this huge opportunity? Is that what you want to do? - No.
- Let me see this beautiful face.
Look at this face.
This is what we want.
Do you think we would have waited for you if you didn't have something? I just don't feel like going to talk to anyone right now.
- Do you want this? - Now that I'm here, I don't know.
- Hi.
- Tell me why you're emotional.
I don't know.
I was just-- I'm fine.
I just broke down for a minute.
- Because of the makeup? - No, it was just-- You don't think it's something about not feeling beautiful without it? - No.
- Kelly: Yes, that's what it is.
- Ding, ding, ding, ding.
- The world is going to see you without your mask? - Kelly: Yup.
- No.
Do you think this is not for you, this competition? I've dreamed about this my whole life.
I really think this competition is for me.
I think I just need to stop with the tears and face my fears - and change.
- There's nothing wrong with crying.
- I know, but-- - Just know that the Jamie Rae that walked in here with all that stuff on is not a model.
And if we didn't have soap and water and things here for you to wash that off, I would've put you on the next flight back home.
And you look like a model right now.
- Thank you.
- Thank you, guys.
Tyra: Oh, you walking in here all kinds of crazy.
- You got a lot of swag.
- I'm Brandon.
I'm 22 and I'm from New Orleans.
- You are a ladies' man.
- Brandon: I love girls.
- Any kind of girls, really.
- Tyra: So you're down with the brown? - Brandon: Absolutely.
- Tyra: Yeah.
I hear you like light-skinned girls.
I don't want a totally dark girl, so-- she has to be light-skinned, but I do like the black girls.
- They told you everything.
- So every brown-skinned woman, not in America, in the world is looking at you right now - going, "Oh, really?" - They're saying, "Thank God.
" They might be.
You're right.
Tyra: But you kinda serving a little face.
I wanted your picture to be so ugly 'cause I wanted all the chocolate sistas around the world to be like, "That's why his picture's whack.
" And now your picture looks good.
Listen, I gotta redeem myself and that's okay.
I'll start from the bottom.
I'll get up there.
( laughing ) I hear that you don't like dark-skinned girls.
- What's that about? - ( stammering ) ( laughing ) You look like a man.
- I am a man.
- Can you do like this - and do a man fist? - I'm a man! What kind of stomach do you have going on under your shirt? - Tyra: Ooh.
- Pretty nice.
- Thank you.
- All right, you're boring us.
Tyra: I agree with you, but your face looks good.
I'm a nervous guy.
I tick a lot.
Nah! ( chanting ) Hello, my name is Mirjana.
I'm 18 and I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina.
I'm actually originally from Serbia-- Europe.
- There's a little toughness in there.
- Yeah, there is.
- Tyra: Where's that come from? - I been through a lot, but I don't want anybody to think it's a pity party.
- So tell me what you've been through.
- I'll start with my dad.
I didn't have a good relationship with him.
And I've had an abusive boyfriend at 13.
I didn't have that love from my dad, so I was looking for that with him.
I definitely consider myself a fighter and I think this is a door opening to get out of everything I have been through.
- Tyra: You got kicked out of the house.
- Yeah, I did.
- I also got kicked out of the house.
- Where'd you sleep? At a transportation center downtown of Charlotte, North Carolina.
I sat there just holding on to my bags and I'm just like, - "What am I going to do?" - What was the hashtag you chose? - Fierce.
- I chose fierce because I don't let anybody walk over me and I'm definitely gonna win.
Tyra: I think your face looks fantastic and you're finding your light.
Kelly: I love this shot of you.
I think it's really fresh.
And I hope you use this time to give birth to yourself.
- Thank you.
- All right, well, thank you, Marijuana? - No-- Marijuana? Come on.
- ( all laugh ) - You know you playin'.
- Mirjana.
- You wanna say it in my language, too? - Yeah.
- Mirjana.
- Mirjana.
I'm very excited about panel.
They loved me.
So I'm great, I'm good to go.
She has that Eastern European attitude.
- Tough.
- Miss J: Tough.
- Don't mess with her.
- Yeah, like she's ready to fight.
This was really an interesting casting process.
We need to cut this group down from 31 to 22.
- So we have a lot of work to do.
- There's gonna be a lot of kids going home today.
( cheering ) Hey, you guys.
Welcome to Lucky Strike.
- Are you ready to bowl? - ( cheering ) This is not any ordinary game.
In fact, it's no game at all.
What I have here is a "Top Model" bowling ball and the ball knows all.
Once you've bowled, you're gonna see a sticker pop up.
If it's a happy sticker, you get to stay in the competition.
And if a sad sticker appears, you'll be packing your things and leaving right now.
Kelly: This is the first of two rounds of cuts.
So you better stay on your A game.
Chantelle: Bowling is supposed to be fun.
Why are you doing this to us? Denzel: Somebody's going home and I'm just praying, praying that it's not me.
We're going to have to basically bowl to see who stays and who goes.
I'm ready to face the first cut.
I feel like I'm a polished model and these kids are just starting out.
So, if you want a polished model, you're gonna look at the kid.
Kari, you're up first.
( cheering ) I am having a little mini panic attack.
- Have you ever bowled before? - Yeah.
I was shaking with nervousness.
Keith.
Whoo! I made it! Ladies, y'all better watch out.
I don't even want to look.
So Brandon goes home and I'm surprised.
I thought he had a very unique personality.
I was like, "Dang.
" Like, "What's gonna happen with me?" Next up is Shei.
Come get me.
Woot, woot.
Chantelle, you're next.
I think my biggest competition is Chantelle.
She's a unique look.
Oh, girl.
Jamie Rae.
Jamie-- she looks like a very gorgeous porn star and I hope she makes it into the competition.
Kari: I was kind of surprised that Jamie Rae made it through this first cut.
I don't think that she has a great high fashion look.
Next up, Adam.
- I think Adam is at risk of going home.
- ( grunts ) He's a joke and it seems like he's not taking it seriously.
( barks ) Kelly: One for the pagans! Oh, my God.
If I was to be cut in the first round, I think that would totally break my heart.
My cold, black heart.
All right, Danny.
You're the last person to bowl.
Danny: By me being here for the second year in a row, that just shows how much I do want to be on top.
Romeo: Danny is arrogant and bigheaded and douchey.
He needs to go home.
Bang! The comeback kid is back, baby.
Whoo! ( cheering ) Kelly: Oh, wait.
There's something that you need to know.
- The game's not over yet.
- Oh, no.
You have one more week to become finalists and it's gonna get super tough.
So have a good time tonight and then it's back to business.
One more week? I thought I made it.
The suspense is killing me.
Let's get this competition rolling.
Tyra: Coming up on "America's Next Top Model" Give me more.
I want to be a finalist more than I want to breathe.
You're acting like a big pit bull right now, but you're a little Chihuahua.
I'm not worried about you 'cause you're gonna go home.
- Kelly: Yu Tsai.
- Yu Tsai: You got a thick body, use it.
- Yu Tsai, he's like a genius.
- Yu Tsai: Energy up! There will be 14 finalists.
