A baby is about to be born.

In Madagascar, ring-tailed lemurs have to stay together to survive, particularly in a drought.

It seems animal mothers are also trying to build a better world.
The care animals give to their young is extraordinary.
As we understand wildlife better, we discover that our way of thinking and feeling about babies is often their way too.
We can understand the emotions we share.
It's a bond with half a billion years of motherhood.
It's thanks to pioneering parents, and perhaps our own long childhoods too, that we can feel something of what others go through.
